Boddole Zer orders his subordinate, Vrlitwhai Kridanik, to to track down the Supervision Army ship (what would become the Macross), thus starting the conflict between Zentradi and the humans known as Space War I.
Space War I
Near the end of the Space War I, he notices the exposure of human ways on his kind leaving a nearly irreversible impact of which will alter the course of Zentradi history permanently. As a staunch believer in the established Zentradi order, he views the influence a contamination and desires to put an end to the process by any means necessary.
After the failures of Britai Kridanik and his other subordinate Moruk Lap Lamiz to capture the SDF-1 Macross and their subsequent "cultural contamination" by the miclones (humans), Boddole Zer ordered all 4,795,122 ships in the Boddole Zer Main Fleet to fold to Earth and destroy the SDF-1 Macross, the defecting Zentradi forces, and the Earth itself in 2010. Boddole Zer was killed when an unorthodox tactic by the SDF-1 Macross destroyed his massive flagship, but not before he ordered the obliteration of the Earth's surface with less than one million human survivors in the Battle with the Boddole Zer Main Fleet.
In the movie depicting the events of Space War I, Boddole Zer was the leader of the Zentradi and has had experience with culture before, he knows what songs are he and tells his fellow Zentradi that they are very powerful. Unusually, Boddole Zer remained an antagonist who is not part of the truce (Quamzin Kravshera is depicted with a minor role and was killed early in the movie) and Hikaru Ichijyo used a VF-1S to fly into the center of his ship to kill him.
